Today we're going to learn how to sew heart knee patch leggings.

I know it's past Valentine's Day, but this is seriously a tutorial for ANY time! My gal is so hard on her leggings, yet they still have so much life left in them! I have a pile to mend, and thought I'd share how I do it. I started off with two pairs of leggings, both with holes in the knees. The striped pair is the one I'm going to mend, and the plain pair is going to be used as my patch fabric. The lace on the bottom was all worn out and faded so I figured they were a suitable candidate for repurposing!

How to Sew Heart Knee Patch Leggings

Knee Patches

Heart Knee Patch Leggings Step 1: Start by opening part of the inseam near the holes on your good leggings. You'll want to avoid the hem, and open enough so you can easily flatten the leg to get it under your machine. I opened mine up about 6 inches.

Heart Knee Patch Leggings Step 3:Iron on some light fusible interfacing to the wrong side of your patch fabric.

Haha, my hearts didn't match up since the holes were in different spots  - just adds to the charm ;)
