DIY Pacifier Clip | Free Pacifier Clips Tutorial
Let's learn how to make a DIY Pacifier Clip. A pacifier clip is an essential tool to have for a baby or toddler. You can attach it to baby’s clothes and keep the pacifier from falling in the dirt, falling on the floor, or getting lost somehow. A DIY Pacifier Clip is also a great beginner sewing project that you can complete in just a few steps.
When my son was a baby, our favorite pacifier was the Soothie Brand Pacifier. These pacifiers are a favorite – they’re distributed nationwide by doctors and nurses and allow for the natural development of teeth and gums. They’re made from hospital-grade BPA-free and latex-free silicone. This makes the strong, comfortable, durable, and dishwasher safe. These pacifiers were our favorite! The only downside was that this silicone design was rather “bouncy.” The Soothie Pacifier can bounce a long way when it falls out of baby's mouth.
If the pacifier would fall out of his mouth, which all pacifiers do, then there was no telling where it would end up. I needed something to make sure he didn’t loose the pacifier. The only pacifier clips they had at Wal-Mart didn’t work with this brand of pacifiers so I decided I needed to make my own DIY Pacifier.
The DIY Pacifier Clip is a great idea! It takes all of 5 minutes and is cheap too! Here’s how I did it:
DIY Pacifier Clip
Materials to Make the Pacifier Clips
- Scrap of Woven Fabric (You’ll only need a piece of fabric about 11″x2″)
- Small Hair elastic or Piece of Ribbon
- Suspender Clip
- Sewing Supplies
DIY Pacifier Clip Sewing Instructions
DIY Pacifier Clip Step 1: Grab a scrap of fabric from your stash and cut an 11×2″ piece. Fold it in half with long sides together and wrong side touching. In between the layers, slip in a small hair elastic (or a loop of ribbon, etc.). Sew up one short end (the side with elastic) and the long edges to create the tube.
Paci Clip Step 2: Turn the right side out and tuck in the raw edges on the other end of your fabric tube. Topstitch around all edges making sure to stitch back and forth several times over the elastic end of the cord to keep it secure.
Step 3: Slide the end without the elastic through a mitten/suspender clip and stitch down.
There you have it. I told you it was easy to make this pacifier clip. Now your pacifiers are always in reach! I hope this pacifier clip tutorial helps you keep track of your pacifier 🙂
