Our Zephyr Windbreaker Pattern: Adult and Kids

The Zephyr Windbreaker is the perfect midweight layer for anytime of year. The Zephyr Windbreaker sewing pattern features a 3-piece hood, zip front, full lining, zipper shield and your choice of patch or zipper pockets.

This is a unisex pattern. The kids version is suitable for boys and girls. The adult version is suitable for women and men.

Sizing for the Pattern

The Adult Windbreaker pattern comes in sizes XS to XXXL  with the following size chart: 

The Kid's Windbreaker Pattern comes in sizes 12 months to 12. Here's the sizing chart: 

Choosing the Right Fabric and Materials

You'll need a couple different fabrics. We recommend:

• Outer Fabric: Light to medium weight woven - water repellent, board short, poplin, quilting cotton, etc. 
• Lining Fabric: Light to medium weight knit or woven: cotton lycra, interlock flannel, quilting cotton, etc.

You'll also need a few other materials:

• Separating Jacket Zipper: See the chart above for the length. You can also shorten a zipper if needed. 
• OPtional Zipper Pockets: 
  • 2 standard closed bottom zippers - see chart for length
  • Scrap of fusible interfacing
• 1/2" elastic for sleeve hems and jacket hems
• Zipper foot
• Wash-away wonder tape or washable glue stick
• Wash-away fabric marking pen or tailor's chalk
